One Minute Video, 2015
Thompson was assigned to film a short one minute video that included an unexpected element. This video is showing how she removed the yarn braids from her hair. She use these yarn braids as a protective hair style. While filming this video, the visualization of all the aspects of being an African American/Black Woman with natural hair and the everyday pressures of society, and the toll it take on our identity.
Spray Paint Dress, 2013
In this video, Thompson is spray painting a dress, handmade with plastic wrapping and spray paint. She then transforms the dress from its raw transparent state to its more elaborate state. The concept of time with progression was a contributing aspect of this project. Captured using a smartphone.
